The First Tee expands to North Spartanburg Thanks to a grant from The Spartanburg County Foundation, youth in North Spartanburg now have convenient access to golf and life skills education. The First Tee at Woodfin Ridge opened on June 6, 2011 with 97 area youth enrolled for summer programming! 8th Annual Cyder Cup Matches The 8th annual Cyder Cup Matches presented by PowerAde (October 29-30) pit the top amateur golfers from Spartanburg against the top amateur golfers from Greenville to raise awareness and funds to support local programming for The First Tee. "Tricks and Treats" with Dennis Walters "Tricks and Treats" with Dennis Walters, world-renowned trick-shot artist and paraplegic golfer, will take place on Friday, October 28th from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. at River Falls Plantation in Duncan, SC.
Forrest Fowler personifies TFT 9 Core Values The First Tee of Spartanburg's own Forrest Fowler was one of 78 junior golfers selected to play in The First Tee Open at the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links in California. The tournament features juniors competing side-by-side with Champions Tour players, like Greenville's Jay Haas, with whom Fowler is paired. The event was televised nationally on the Golf Channel -- September 3 - 5, 2010.
