Registration Open for Summer Programming

Summer 2016 programming begins the week of June 13th at The Creek (Spartanburg), Woodfin Ridge (Boiling Springs/Inman), Cherokee National (Gaffney) and Willow Creek (Greer) Life Skills & Golf Skills programming conducted once weekly for youth ages 5 and up. 12th Annual Cyder Cup Matches

The 12th annual Cyder Cup Matches (October 24-25) pit the top amateur golfers from Spartanburg against the top amateur golfers from Greenville to raise awareness and funds to support local programming for The First Tee. Got Golf Clubs or Balls to Donate?

You can help The First Tee of Spartanburg by bringing new or used golf clubs/balls to The First Tee Learning Center at 640 Keltner Avenue (located at The Creek Golf Club). Some equipment can be modified for student use; some can be sold to help further The First Tee of Spartanburg mission. "In kind" donations are tax deductible. Spartanburg chapter pilots STEM Links program

The First Tee debuts its STEM Links Field Guide program on October 26th at The Country Club of Spartanburg. The First Tee of Spartanburg & Cherokee Counties is one of six chapters selected to administer the pilot program, which will be launched nationwide in spring 2016.

The First Tee Life Skills & Golf Skills Team Challenge

184 fourth graders from 46 First Tee partnering schools will tee up Life Skills and Golf Skills learned in school at 2 First Tee partnering golf courses. Cherokee National Golf Course will host a school-day competition for Cherokee County students on Friday, September 18th sponsored by Henry Transou Memorial Junior Golf Classic Fund. The following Friday, September 25th, students will compete at The First Tee Course at The Creek Golf Club. The Spartanburg County event is presented by PwC Charitable Foundation Inc. and sponsored by Phifer Johnson Foundation. Lunch is provided by Bojangles with product support by Coca-Cola of Spartanburg and Diversified Pool Products.

Congratulations Grace Vaughan, named Top Ten FINALIST for The First Tee RBS Achievers of the Year. Two GRAND PRIZE winners, one boy and one girl, will each be awarded a $15,000 scholarship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, FL on Saturday, October 3, during the season-ending Web.com Tour Championship.

Grace Vaughan wins GRAND PRIZE in Wells Fargo Succeeding Together Contest, plays with #1 Rory McIlroy in Pro-Am on 5/13/15

Congratulations Grace Vaughan, named GRAND PRIZE WINNER of the Wells Fargo "Succeeding Together" Essay Contest. Grace's prize package includes a 4 day/3 night trip for 2 to attend the Wells Fargo Championship and sponsored/celebrity events plus the opportunity to play in the Wells Fargo Pro-Am with Rory McIlroy, her long-time idol!  We are so proud of this inspiring young lady -- go Grace!

Maggie Smith selected TFT Life Skills & Leadership Academy

Congratulations Maggie Smith, one of 96 juniors worldwide selected to attend The First Tee Life Skills & Leadership Academy 7/22-7/28 in Blaine, MN. Participants are instructed in leadership and career opportunities and enjoy championship golf! Maggie is one of four participants from South Carolina attending the academy!

Maria File selected BMW Big Break

Congratulations Maria File, TFT Eagle participant (The Creek location), one of 12 players selected by the SC Junior Golf Association to compete Wednesday, May 13th starting at 1:30 pm in the BMW "Big Break" skills challenge at the Reserve at Lake Keowee. Juniors will play with a Web.Com Tour Player and a "Wounded Warrior" veteran of US Forces. Congratulations and good luck to Maria, we are proud of your accomplishment!
