The First Tee of Spartanburg's Anne Taylor Hough competed in the 2013 Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, an official Champions Tour event that was held September 27-29 and televised internationally on Golf Channel.
Hough has been involved with The First Tee of Spartanburg since its founding in 2002 by her grandfather, William F. "Billy" Hough. A rising junior at Spartanburg High School, Hough ranks 5th among SC junior girl golfers, and was one of thirty-two juniors nationwide selected for The First Tee Challenge at The Junior Invitational at Sage Valley this past April.
Hough is the second participant from The First Tee of Spartanburg to be selected for this prestigious honor. Forrest Fowler attended in 2010.
According to Hough, "The life lessons I've learned at The First Tee, and now teach at my local chapter, are the key to success both on and off the golf course. The First Tee has taught me to Raise the Bar and work hard to achieve my goals. Playing in the Nature Valley First Tee Open is a dream come true."
